Omer Karadag, M.D., is a Professor in Division of Rheumatology, Department of Internal Medicine at Hacettepe University, Ankara-Turkey.
His main clinical and research interests are focused on vasculitis, PAN, ANCA associated vasculitis, IgG4-RD, monogenic diseases including FMF, DADA2, and Registry systems.
He served as Honorary Clinical Research Fellow in Vasculitis in Department of Medicine, Vasculitis&Lupus Clinic, Cambridge, UK.
Dr Karadag is the founder and director of Hacettepe University Vasculitis Research Centre since 2014. He serves as the coordinator of Worldwide Polyarteritis Nodosa Study Group (EUVAS & VCRC and many national cohorts) and coordinator of TRVaS (Turkish Vasculitis Study Group) Prospective Database.
Dr. Karadag is a member of ACR, EUVAS and European EGPA Study Group.
He has been as task force member of EULAR recommendations for the management of ANCA-associated vasculitis: 2022 update, EULAR/PReS endorsed recommendations for the management of familial Mediterranean fever (FMF): 2024 update.
Currently, he attends in steering committee of the guidelines on the diagnosis and management of medium vessel vasculitis: polyarteritis nodosa. A collaborative initiative from ERN-RITA and EUVAS
in task force of international Guidelines on the Diagnosis, Treatment, and Management of IgG4-RD.
He has over 240 international publications with citations >6700; H indexes (Scopus 39, Web of science 35, Google scholar 47).
