Dr. Mohamed Salam Al Riyami is a Senior Consultant Pediatric Nephrologist and Head of the Pediatric Nephrology Unit at the Royal Hospital, Muscat, Sultanate of Oman. He obtained his MD from Sultan Qaboos University in 1995 and completed a Fellowship in Clinical Pediatric Nephrology at the University of British Columbia, Canada, in 2005.
A Fellow of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health (UK), Dr. Al Riyami has been instrumental in developing pediatric renal and transplant services in Oman. He serves as a senior clinical lecturer at Sultan Qaboos University, an MRCPCH examiner, and a trainer with the Oman Medical Specialty Board.
Dr. Al Riyami is actively involved in national kidney care and transplant committees and represents Oman in several regional and international professional societies, including IPNA, ESPN, IPTA, and ASPN. His research and publications focus on primary hyperoxaluria, genetic kidney diseases, chronic kidney disease, and pediatric renal transplantation, contributing significantly to improving pediatric renal care in the region.
